2019 Billy Cart Derby – Race Rules

Race Rules

  1. All billy carts will receive a practice run immediately after scrutineering if time permits.
  2. All drivers must wear a helmet, gloves and closed in shoes.  All billy carts must have adequate braking and steering and may be disqualified at the discretion of the scrutineer. Other protective equipment recommended eg elbow and knee pads
  3. If entrant and billy cart fail to arrive at the start line on time, the race will start without them.
  4. All billy carts will commence from a stationary position.
    1. No outside assistance is allowed unless expressly permitted by the starting officials
    2. No pedaling, or propulsion of any kind is allowed.
    3. Billy carts must proceed under their own weight.
    4. Billy carts must have fixed seating and drivers must remain seated during races.
  5. All judges decisions will be final. No appeals or correspondence will be entered into.  A billy cart driver may be disqualified at the discretion of the chief marshall.
  6. All billy carts and drivers must attend for scrutineering from 9am.
  7. FINAL TIME FOR SCRUTINEERING WILL BE 10AM.
  8. All drivers to attend the scrutineering area as early as possible to avoid last minute queue resulting in missing your event.
  9. The committee reserves the right to re-arrange or cancel events.
